Medan, July 21, 2026 – The Library of Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) once again organized the Information Literacy Class as part of the USU Library Holiday Program 2026 by holding the Canva Basics Training Batch II on Tuesday (July 21) at the Library Meeting Room, 3rd Floor. The program was designed to enhance students' digital literacy and visual design skills.
The training featured Tengku Izynovansyah, S.S.I. as the keynote instructor, accompanied by Lia Marisa Barus, S.I.Pust. and Beby Rizky, S.Sos. as facilitators. During the session, participants were introduced to Canva's essential features, including designing presentations, posters, and digital promotional materials that can support academic activities and creative projects.
The event was attended by students from various faculties across Universitas Sumatera Utara, who actively participated throughout the training. In addition to the theoretical session, participants had the opportunity to practice creating designs using Canva under the guidance of the instructor and facilitators.
The Canva Basics Training Batch II marks the first session of a three-part training series. Participants will continue with two follow-up sessions scheduled for July 28 and August 4, 2026. Through this structured program, participants are expected to gradually develop their design skills, enabling them to produce creative, engaging, and professional-quality visual content.
This training reflects the USU Library's commitment to providing information literacy services that extend beyond access to information resources by fostering digital competencies relevant to the demands of today's academic and professional environments.
