Offline Services

Offline Services

Circulation services are available at the university library and 14 branch libraries. These services use an online and integrated Library Management Information System (LMS) that connects the university library with its 14 branches, as well as with other LMS applications used within USU. Users can borrow books, return them, renew loans, and pay fines at the library location nearest to them.

Membership services are located on the 2nd floor of the university library building. Here, users can activate their membership, obtain a Library Clearance Letter (SKBP) either onsite or online, and register as guest members.

User guidance services provide assistance to users in finding information from the university library’s collection, online resources subscribed to by the library, or external sources—quickly, accurately, and according to users’ needs.

This service is located on the 1st floor of the university library. It is specifically designed for lecturers and postgraduate students who require spacious study areas, comfort, easy access to information, facilities for writing, information searching, conducting research, peer discussions, scientific article consultations, Turnitin checks, and more. The service provides several public computer terminals and five individual study rooms (rubelin). It also offers outreach and training activities in the form of Information Literacy Classes, delivered through lectures and hands-on search practice. These classes aim to provide knowledge of the electronic information resources available at the library and to teach skills in information search techniques that are simple, fast, precise, accurate, and aligned with users’ needs.

The university library and its 14 branches organize information literacy classes for both individual users and groups. These classes include library orientations, training on the use of e-journals and e-books, workshops on information and article search techniques in e-journals and e-books, and more. They can be conducted either online or onsite, depending on users’ requests.

The requirements for requesting Information Literacy Class Services are as follows:

  1. A collective/group request from a study program, submitted via an official letter to the library requesting the organization of an information literacy class.
  2. For individual requests, the minimum number of participants is five (5).
  3. Participants must be USU students or lecturers.
  4. Training instructors are competent library staff.
  5. The training room must be adequate and equipped with internet access and an LCD projector.
  6. Participants are required to bring their own computers (laptops).
