AIPT Assessors Visit USU Library

MEDAN – The University of Sumatra Utara (USU) is currently undergoing the process of assessing the Higher Education Institution Accreditation (AIPT) which will last for two days, namely from 19 – 20 February 2018. The event was held in the IMT-GT room of the USU Academic Center Bureau Building, which was officially opened by the USU Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Runtung, SH., M.Hum., Monday (19/2).

The assessor team that conducted the visitation were, Prof. Dr. Marwan Asri, MBA., (UGM), Prof. Dr. Ir. Mohammad Nasikin, M.Eng., (UI), Prof. Dr. Elly Wahyudin, M.Sc., (UNHAS), Prof. Dr. Ir. Benhard Sitohang, (ITB), Prof. Dr. Ir. Tineke Mandang, MS., (IPB), Dr. Ngadiso, M.Pd., (UMS), and Prof. Achmad Jainuri, MA., Ph.D., (UINSA).

One of the assessors’ agendas is to visit faculties and units on the USU campus to conduct assessments.

The USU Library is one of the units visited by the assessors, represented by Prof. Dr. Ir. Tineke Mandang, MS. He was accompanied by the Head of the Library, Dr. Jonner Hasugian, M.Sc., and the Deputy Head of the Library, Drs. Syakirin Pangaribuan SH.

In his presentation, the Head of the Library explained the various features available at the USU library in carrying out service activities for the academic community, including Independent Borrowing and Returning, where this tool can carry out book borrowing and returning activities without requiring an operator so that this service can be carried out for 24 hours, especially Independent Returning.

Another feature is that the USU Library already has a Plagiarism Detection Application, namely Turnitin, a Literacy Room equipped with the latest computers and Digital Services for lecturers and students.

The visit lasted for approximately one hour and ended at around 12.00 WIB. Then, Mrs. Tineke Mandang continued her visit to the Faculty of Engineering, especially the Civil Engineering study program.
