Medan, September 14, 2026 – In commemoration of Library Visit Day 2026, the Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) Library presented special gift packages as tokens of appreciation to selected library users in two categories: First Library Visitor and Most Frequent Library Visitor.
In the First Library Visitor category, Louis Pascal Purba Girsang, a student of the Faculty of Engineering, Chemistry Study Program, was selected as the first visitor to arrive at the USU Library at 8:00 a.m. WIB.
Louis Pascal was welcomed by Sundari, S.Sos., M.Si., Secretary of the USU Library; Irna Maulina Siregar, S.Sos., Manager of Library Services; Murniati, S.Sos.; Evi Yulfimar, S.Sos., representing the Librarian Group; as well as the coordinators and staff of the USU Library on duty.
As a form of appreciation, Sundari, S.Sos., M.Si. presented a special gift package to Louis Pascal. This activity reflects the USU Library’s appreciation for library users who actively visit and make use of the various library services available.
In addition, appreciation was also presented to the Most Frequent Library Visitor, Ghozi Al Zhafiri Napitupulu, a student of the Master’s Program in Mathematics, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), who was recorded as having made 203 visits to the USU Library.
As part of the recognition, a special gift package and certificate were presented directly by Sundari, S.Sos., M.Si., Secretary of the USU Library, accompanied by Irna Maulina Siregar, S.Sos., Manager of Library Services, to Ghozi Al Zhafiri Napitupulu on Monday, September 14, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. WIB, on the second floor of the USU Library.
Through this activity, the USU Library continues to strengthen its role as a center for learning, research, and knowledge development for the entire academic community. Furthermore, the activity is part of the USU Library’s efforts to foster closer relationships with library users and encourage the growth of a strong literacy culture within Universitas Sumatera Utara.
