Today, May 2, 2025, we commemorate National Education Day, a moment to reflect on the importance of education in building the nation’s future. Education is not only about reading books or earning diplomas, but also about opening doors of opportunity, fostering innovation, and shaping a generation of integrity, intelligence, and compassion.
Today reminds us of the struggle of Ki Hadjar Dewantara, the pioneer of Indonesian education, who believed in the values of:
“Ing Ngarso Sung Tulodo, Ing Madyo Mangun Karso, Tut Wuri Handayani.”
(To stand in front as a role model, in the middle to encourage, and at the back to provide support).
These values are the strong foundation of Indonesia’s education system. Let us make today a reminder to keep learning, sharing knowledge, and supporting the younger generation as the nation’s successors.
We believe that literacy and education are the main keys to creating a better society. Therefore, let us all continue to uphold the spirit of lifelong learning!
