Fostering Collaboration, Assistant Vice President of PT. Pegadaian Persero Visits USU Library

MEDAN – Assistant Vice President of PT Pegadaian Persero Khoiriyah Dwi Putranti, S.E., M.B.A. accompanied by Senior Manager of Medan Region Nurul Asniar and Assistant Manager Bima Surya Prakoso and their entourage visited the University of Sumatra Utara (USU) Library on Thursday, April 8, 2021 at around 10:00 AM. His arrival was welcomed directly by the Head of USU Library Laila Hadri Nasution, S.Sos., M.P. accompanied by the Heads of Division within the USU Library.

Mrs. Tanti (as she is usually called) and her entourage were then entertained by the Head of USU Library in her room. He briefly explained about the USU Library and the role and function of a University Library in supporting teaching and learning activities on campus. In turn, Mrs. Tanti explained the purpose of her visit. The purpose of her visit was to establish cooperation between PT Pegadaian Persero and the University of North Sumatra. PT Pegadaian Persero is currently running a program that aims to get closer to millennials. The name of the program is Pegadaian Goes to Campus. One of these programs is to build The Gade Creative Lounge at universities in Indonesia. One of them is USU and is planned to be built in the Library.

The Gade Creative Lounge is a place where students can gather and express their creative ideas. In this place, students can discuss, and create creative ideas so that they can produce useful work. The Gade Creative Lounge is a mini co-working space concept that will be equipped with facilities and infrastructure such as LCDs, computers, and other facilities that can support teaching and learning activities in the USU environment.

After doing hospitality in her room, Mrs. Lala (her nickname) then invited her guests to review the construction site of The Gade Creative Lounge while showing the facilities in the USU Library. This activity is usually called a Library Tour. On this occasion, she explained several alternative rooms that could be used for the construction of The Gade Creative Lounge.

Mrs. Tanti carefully listened and paid attention to several rooms that would be used as the establishment of The Gade Creative Lounge. He was so detailed in asking the habits of USU Students when visiting the Library. Because this will later be used as a consideration in determining the location of the establishment of The Gade Creative Lounge.

After conducting a review, Mrs. Tanti and her entourage said goodbye. Of course, this meeting could not be done just once. He hopes that this collaboration can provide progress in education in Indonesia, especially for USU students. And of course, we all hope that this collaboration can provide benefits for both parties, namely PT Pegadaian Persero and the University of Sumatra Utara.
