National Library Deputy Gives Public Lecture at USU

MEDAN – The Department of Library and Information Science, University of Sumatra Utara held a Public Lecture activity presenting speakers from the National Library of the Republic of Indonesia, namely the Deputy for Library Resource Development Dra. Woro Titi Haryanti, MA., with the theme of Social Inclusion-Based Libraries (23/8/19).

Before the public lecture took place, the Head of the USU Library Dr. Jonner Hasugian, M.Sc., held a friendly gathering with Mrs. Woro Titi Haryanti in his office. Also present were lecturers from the USU Library and Information Science Department as well as Deputy Heads and Heads of Divisions in the USU Library environment.

During the meeting, the guests who attended exchanged ideas and experiences in library development in Indonesia, especially the development of university-level libraries.

During the public lecture, the resource person conveyed that librarians should be more active and creative in managing libraries because the role of libraries is now more dynamic in supporting the improvement of community welfare.

The public lecture was held on the first floor of the USU Library Conference Room and was quite interesting and attractive. The participants were quite enthusiastic about participating in the activity. In the question and answer session, participants took turns asking several questions related to the discussion that day.

The public lecture lasted about an hour and ended at around 12.00 AM and ended with a group photo with the speakers and participants.
