The group of SMAN 1 Plus Matauli consisting of 30 students who are recipients of Scholarships from the Tapteng APBD was led directly by the Principal, Mr. Murdianto, S.Pd, MM., along with 5 teachers who accompanied him. Among others were Imam Purhadi, S.Pd., MM, Deden Rahmawan, S.Pd., MM, Diyah Kusnaeni, S.Pd., MM, Edy Muharyanto, S.Pd, and Frince Tambunan, S.Pd.
Also accompanying the USU Trustee, Mr. Drs. H. Panusunan Pasaribu, M.M, who previously served as the Regent of Central Tapanuli from 1995 – 2001.
In his remarks, Principal Murdianto said that this visit was intended to increase students’ insight into the importance of libraries in the learning process. Because books are the window to the world while the library is the gate.
Murdianto hopes that in the future, SMA Negeri 1 Matauli and the USU Library can work together to improve the quality of education through library services. SMAN 1 Matauli itself was the 3rd Place Winner of the National Best Library in 2015.
The visit was warm, and the Head of the Library invited the group to tour the Library to see the various services available at the USU Library including Circulation Services, Short Loan Collection Services and the latest is the Independent Loan Service and other services.
The visit ended at around 12.30 WIB, marked by the exchange of Plaques from both parties as souvenirs.
