Medan, September 11, 2026 – The Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) Library received a study visit from SDS IT Siti Hajar Medan on Friday, September 11, 2026. The visit was conducted as part of an effort to share knowledge and experiences in library management, administration, and service development.
The visit was warmly welcomed by Irna Maulina, S.Sos., Manager of Library Services at USU. During the visit, Nur Asiah Batubara, M.Pd., Librarian at SDS IT Siti Hajar Medan, participated in discussions and exchanged experiences on various aspects of library management.
The activity took place through an interactive discussion covering various aspects of library governance and service development. The exchange of information and experiences is expected to provide new insights for both institutions in developing library management that is effective, innovative, and responsive to users’ needs.
Through this visit, the USU Library and SDS IT Siti Hajar Medan shared best practices in library management and services. In addition to broadening knowledge and perspectives, the activity also served as an opportunity to strengthen professional networks and explore potential collaboration in the fields of libraries and literacy.
The study visit is expected to benefit both institutions, particularly in supporting improvements in the quality of library management and services. Sharing knowledge, exchanging experiences, and building collaboration are collective steps toward creating libraries that are adaptive, professional, innovative, and oriented toward users’ needs.
With a spirit of collaboration and the sharing of best practices, this activity represents a joint effort to continuously develop libraries as spaces for learning, sources of information, and centers of literacy that provide meaningful benefits to the community.
