USU Hosts the 2019 Plenary Session of the Academic Senate Council of Legal Entity State Universities (PTN-BH)

Medan – USU Public Relations: The University of North Sumatra was appointed as the host for the implementation of the 2019 Plenary Session of the Academic Senate-Assembly of Legal Entities State Universities. The activity, which was attended by delegates from the Academic Senate from 11 PTN BH, took place from 18 to 19 February 2019, at the Student Center of the University of North Sumatra. The Minister of Research, Technology, and Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia, Prof. H. Mohamad Nasir, Ph. D., Ak, is scheduled to attend to open the event on Monday (17/2) morning. The eleven PTN BH are the University of North Sumatra, the University of Indonesia, Gadjah Mada University, Bandung Institute of Technology, Bogor Agricultural Institute, Indonesian Education University, Airlangga University, Diponegoro University, Padjajaran University, Hasanuddin University and the Sepuluh November Institute.

Also accompanying the Minister of Research and Technology were the Secretary General of the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education, Prof. Ainun Naim, Ph. D., MBA, and other officials from the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education, as well as the Chairperson of the Academic Senate-Assembly of PTN BH, Prof. Ir. Priyo Suprobo, M.S., Ph.D. The Governor of North Sumatra, H Edy Rahmayadi attended along with several officials of the North Sumatra Provincial Government. Meanwhile, from USU, there will be USU Chancellor Prof. Dr. Runtung Sitepu, SH, M Hum, Vice Chancellors, Chair and Secretary of the Board of Trustees, Chair and Vice Chair of the Board of Professors, expert staff and other leaders of institutions at USU.

Minister of Research and Technology Prof. H. Mohamad Nasir, Ph. D, Ak, will appear as one of the main speakers, presenting presentation material with the theme “Development of Human Resources and Supporting Academic Facilities and Infrastructure”. The other two speakers are Prof. Yanuarsyah (Central PAK Team of the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education) who will present the material, “Implementation of PAK at the Central Level” and Prof. Juanda Nawawi (UNHAS), with the material “Strategy for Accelerating the Appointment of Professors”.

The MSA PTN BH Plenary Session is a routine quarterly agenda held by the Academic Senate-Assembly of PTN BH, where before the plenary session, the MSA PTN BH held a Commission Meeting which was held alternately at 11 PTN BH Universities. The MSA PTN BH plenary session at USU was a plenary session of the results of the commission session previously held at UGM, UNHAS, and UPI. This was stated by the Secretary of the USU Academic Senate, Muhammad Arifin Nasution, S Sos, M.SP, on the sidelines of the dress rehearsal of the activity, on Sunday (17/2).

The Academic Senate-Assembly of PTN BH is a partnership between the Academic Senate of PTN BH and strategic partners of the Government and other stakeholders, in fighting for the common interests of legal entity universities in particular, and universities in general, in various aspects and relevant issues.

MSA PTN BH functions to establish strategic cooperation in the fields of education, research, and community service, to develop science, to foster quality human resources, and to help solve problems faced by PTN BH in particular and the Indonesian nation in general.
