USU Library Holds 2026–2031 Transformation Coordination Meeting Toward a Smart Academic Library

The USU Library held a coordination meeting to discuss its 2026–2031 transformation strategy toward becoming a Smart Academic Library focused on digital innovation, adaptive services, and global competitiveness.

Medan, May 14, 2026 — The Library of Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) held a Coordination Meeting on the Transformation of the USU Library 2026–2031 toward a Smart Academic Library on Thursday (8/5). The meeting involved the Head of the USU Library, Prof. Dr. Syahril Efendi, S.Si., M.I.T., library leadership, and librarians within the USU Library environment.

 

The coordination meeting discussed strategic steps for transforming the USU Library into a more modern, adaptive, and digitally integrated knowledge ecosystem to support the needs of the USU academic community in the digital era. In addition, the meeting also served as a moment to evaluate and review the library’s service performance to further optimize user services.

 

This transformation is part of an effort to improve service quality, strengthen the library’s role as a center for learning and self-development, and enhance the reputation of the USU Library at both national and international levels.

 

Through this coordination meeting, the USU Library hopes that all divisions can work collaboratively to realize the vision of a Smart Academic Library that is innovative, inclusive, and globally competitive.
