USU Library Receives Students for Field Practice Program

MEDAN – The University of Sumatra Utara (USU) Library received thirty Diploma III Students from the Faculty of Humanities, Department of Library and Information Science of USU to carry out Field Work Practice (PKL) activities. The students were received by the Deputy Head of the Library Drs. Syakirin Pangaribuan, SH, along with all Heads of Division in the Conference Room Lt. 1 USU Library (24/2/2020).

In his remarks, the Deputy Head of the Library hopes that students can take advantage of this activity to hone their skills in managing University-level libraries, and it is hoped that students’ insights can be further developed after participating in this PKL activity so that later students can grow into professional librarians.

In addition, he also hopes that USU Librarians can provide support and guidance to students so that the implementation of PKL can run well and smoothly without disturbing the Main Duties and Functions (Tupoksi) of the Librarians themselves.

This PKL activity starts from February 24 to May 15, 2020. All participants are divided into five groups which aim to make the activities run effectively and efficiently. The event which lasted about an hour ended at around 09.30 WIB. The participants were immediately divided according to their groups and placed in the predetermined fields.
