Perak, February 20, 2025 – The Head of USU Library, Laila Hadri Nasution, S.Sos., M.P., recently visited the Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP) Library in Malaysia. During the visit, the Head of USU Library had the opportunity to discuss with UTP library professionals various aspects of library management, including collection development, implementation of automation systems, and the use of big data for analyzing user needs.

“This visit provided us with valuable insights to improve the quality of services at USU Library,” said Ms. Laila in a brief interview. One of the main focuses of the visit was learning about the implementation of UTP’s integrated library system. This system allows users to access a variety of library services online, from collection searches, borrowing and returning books, to access to journals and scientific databases.

“We hope this visit will strengthen collaboration between the USU Library and UTP Library,” added Ms. Laila. “We believe that exchanging ideas and experiences between libraries can accelerate the development of better library services for users.”

The visit is expected to have a positive impact on the development of the USU Library, especially in improving service quality and technology utilization. The experiences and insights gained from this visit will be implemented in various programs and activities at USU Library.
