Medan, Thursday (8/05/2025) – Universitas Sumatera Utara, in collaboration with Elsevier, organized the Workshop: Empowering Your Research Journey with Scopus, an event designed to support and maximize academic research using the Scopus platform. The workshop was held online via Zoom Meeting and opened by the Vice Rector for Research, Community Service, and Collaboration, Prof. Dr. Poppy Anjelisa Zaitun Hasibuan, S.Si., M.Si., Apt., who delivered a warm and inspiring address, encouraging participants to keep innovating in the academic world.
The event was moderated by Prof. Dr. Erman Munir, M.Sc., Head of the Institute for Scientific Writing Innovation and Intellectual Property Rights at USU. Also in attendance were the Head of USU Library, Mrs. Laila Hadri Nasution, S.Sos., M.P., Faculty Deans, lecturers, researchers, postgraduate students, as well as librarians from USU Library.
This program aimed to enhance participants’ skills in effectively utilizing the Scopus platform, from literature searches to strategies for publishing in international journals. Participants also received practical guidance on how to optimize their research outputs to be more relevant and high-quality, with live demonstrations on the Scopus platform.
