Medan – The Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) Library has launched a book donation drive through the BLiTS (BINUS for Literacy) Program as part of its efforts to improve children's literacy in Indonesia. The initiative invites members of the USU academic community and the general public to contribute books that are still in good, readable condition.

The USU Library serves as one of the collection points for donated books, which will later be distributed to communities and institutions in need. This program represents a collaborative effort to expand access to reading materials while supporting equitable education and fostering a stronger reading culture across various regions.

The donation drive welcomes a wide range of books, including children's storybooks and fairy tales, educational comics, young adult novels, alphabet and number learning books, general knowledge books, biographies, motivational and self-development books, as well as skill-building books. All donated books are expected to be in good condition, suitable for reading, and beneficial to their future recipients.

Through this initiative, the USU Library encourages the university community and the public to give unused books a new purpose. By donating books, contributors help provide quality learning resources for children across Indonesia while promoting a culture of sharing through literacy.

The USU Library hopes that more individuals and organizations will participate in the program so its impact can reach even more young people. After all, every donated book is more than just a collection of pages—it serves as a bridge to knowledge, hope, and the dreams of future generations.
